Using fruit as decoration is a simple way to add some texture and interest to your tablescape in an inexpensive way. Fruit has been making its way into centerpieces, and it can also be used very effectively as pretty accent pieces. Used in different ways, fruit can transcend a country casual vibe and be quite chic. See the picture below of a pomegranate used as a name card.

Or some peaches simply scattered on a beautiful table runner with some potted lavender can also be incredibly chic in a rustic setting.

These are beautiful. We've used LOTS of fruit in our designs (and then always donate the fruit to local shelters or other afterwards). One time, for a very eco-conscious couple, we actually wrote out the escort card information (guest name and table number) right ON limes to save on paper! Lots of creative things can be done with fun fruit!
